XL SERIES CASES The XL Series is the result of two years of comprehensive research and development. LM Engineering design specialists set out to create a case that was extremely durable, lightweight, attractive and affordable.

Unique "case maker" extrusions wrap around exterior-grade, 1/4" plywood panels. This formidable design yields a case with solid aluminum side walls that feature a "built in" inter-locking tongue and groove that ensures maximum protection for the most demanding situations.

Strength of these cases is enhanced by nickel-plated steel piano hinges, heavy gauge corners and draw bolts and steel-reinforced strap handles.

There is only one thing that you won't find in the XL Series . . . weight!

200 SERIES CASES From concept to completion, LM Engineering offers full service plastic thermoforming capabilities. Our computer assisted design staff can create a custom thermoformed case built specifically for your needs. Our production capability can accommodate orders from ten to ten thousand. You may also choose from our current library of plastic cases and modify the interior to suit your particular application.

200 series cases can be equipped with hardware specifically tailored to your application and, as with all LM Engineering cases, the interiors can be custom finished to accommodate any item.

Our sturdy lightweights are perfect for OEM applications, salesperson's cases, sample cases or any durable, lightweight case requirement.

QUALITY CONTROL Our quality control process begins when the order is placed. Our knowledgeable sales staff is also trained as designers to keep paper flow and departmental transfers to a minimum. All sales orders and sales department generated designs are then checked for accuracy by our dedicated design staff. Orders of highly complex nature are sent directly to design, where the designer and the sales person works in concert to achieve the final product specification. Specification sheets and drawings are computer generated to accompany each case as it travels through the production area. All final designs and specifications are then checked once again prior to production scheduling. Every case is inspected as it moves from department to department. Each completed case is inspected carefully for proper fit, finish and performance prior to shipment.
INDUSTRY-ACCEPTED MATERIALS Plywood -- ATA, surface hardware and XL series cases begin with select cross-laminated, exterior grade plywood. Only the finest hardwoods with a low incidence of knots and voids are chosen. All plywood is sampled and inspected at the dock to ensure it meets our high standards. 3/4" cabinet grade birch is used exclusively as caster board material.

Laminates -- You may select from our standard laminates of ABS plastic in red, white, blue, black, silver, green, orange and yellow. There are a variety of options for an additional charge, including aluminum in mill finish with stucco texture; and formica and other similar plastic laminates.

Our fully automated laminating line features an advanced, moisture-cure urethane adhesive applied as a foam to maximize coverage. This low-solvent process resists reactivation under head. Humidity is strictly controlled during the adhesive application. The laminated plywood is then placed in a high-pressure press for at least 24 hours. The process results in a bond without peer in the industry.

Extrusions -- Our exclusive extrusions feature a specialized allow which has been field tested for strength and durability. The 6030 alloy is a blend of manganese for strength, copper for heat conduction and silicon for corrosion resistance. The resulting alloy is tempered to T5 hardness, the maximum strength which still permits bending and stapling.

Our corner extrusions which accommodate 1/2" and 3/8" plywood, feature an impressive .090" wall thickness for superior durability. Wide channel tongue and groove valance ensure that case integrity will not be compromised, even in the most abusive situation.

Hardware -- All hardware is strictly the finest to suit any application. Positive locking recessed latches and handles are complimented by heavy gauge corner clamps and ball corners for all ATA cases. Surface hardware cases utilize spring loaded twist catches and medium duty corner clamps and corners. XL and plastic cases feature tough, draw bolt latches and support hardware that is very durable and lightweight. All hardware is washer backed at key stress points. A wide variety of hardware options such as locks, stacking hardware, caster, valance spanning latches and much more are available.

Interiors -- Customized interiors are available in a variety of foam types, thicknesses and densities, depending on our individual case requirements. Other interior options include, carpet or vinyl lined, painted, raw, and plush. Compartments, drawers, dividers and trays are also available.

PACKAGING AND SHIPPING We individually wrap each case and include support material to protect all out-bound product shipments. All truck and air/ocean freight is palletized without exception to provide maximum protection during shipment.
