Need a special accent mark with your name or address?
We hope this chart smooths out some of the translation problems with GLOBAL e-mail communications. BECAUSE, what looks "correct" on your computer may not look correct on ours. Spelling out what marks need to be included makes our job easier. :-)

For example:
Québec should be e-mailed as:
Quebec (acute accent over first "e")

and... if we should include this mark: é then spell out the instructions, by saying, as in the following example, "an acute accent over the first "e".

Jimenez (acute accent over first "e")

François
Francois (cedilla under "c")

Larrivèe
Larrivee (grave accent over first "e")

Renè
Rene (grave accent over second "e")

Strômberg
Stromberg (circumflex over "o")

Humlegårdsgatan

Piña
Pina (tilde over "n")

æ
ae (diphthong --ligature)
